Exploring The Beauty Of Kumaon Region

Chaukori

Nestled between the high peaks of the western ranges in the Himalayas, Chaukori is a small hill station in the district of Pithoragarh and is part of the Kumaon region. The town is known for the variety of birds it hosts, including the Lammergeier, Minta with blue wings, Himalayan Griffon, Forktail with slate backs, woodpeckers with Rufus' bellies, Khaaji peasants and a variety of thrushes. The yellow throat Himalayan Marten, leopard, sambhar and barking deer are other animals which can be found in this area.
