There is something about the mountains that have always intrigued me. The mystical charm, picturesque sights and infinite lush green slopes are captivating. Among the bewildered mountains of Uttarakhand, from bustling cities to serene hamlets, everything is blessed with a tranquil environment that most parts of India lack. This charismatic beauty attracts tourists from different parts of the country who want to escape the commotion of the hoi polloi of their everyday life.



However, during my last visit, while staying in an exquisite riverside cottage in Uttarakhand, I realised that it not only offers a pristine form of nature that replenishes your mind but is also the adventure hub of India. Mentioned below are 3 adventure activities for the adventurous souls amidst the mighty mountain ranges:-

Paragliding

Have you ever witnessed an aerial view of the mountains? It’s awe-inspiring. You will experience an adrenaline rush while flying like a bird in the open blue sky. The enthralling adventure sport will rejuvenate your mind and replenish you with excitement. There are multiple spots across Uttarakhand that are renowned for paragliding. River Rafting

Kausani: A Blissful Destination

A weekend getaway to reduce the work-life stress is mandatory. Away from the pollution and commotion of the city, nestled in the mighty mountains of the Himalayas, is the beautiful village and hill station, Kausani. Located in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, the village is bestowed with magnificent scenic beauty. Without any set destination, you can often enjoy wandering around in the hills of Kausani aimlessly captivated by the panoramic view of the Himalayas. The village has few of the finest cottages in Kumaon and is a perfect destination for the tourists coming from all over the country.

Also known by the epithet, ‘Switzerland of India’ the pristine village is still unblemished by modernity. The rocky trail leads to a valley where you can explore your way around hills, past the women herding cattle to reach the Rudrahari temple on the banks of the river. People believe that the cave temple was established after a mystic meditated there for years, which was also his residence.   
 
In the banks of Gomti river in Garur valley, located are the stone temples of Baijnath. According to the legends, the temples were built overnight by the Katyuri kings and if you find imperfections beautiful, the Baijnath temples are worth a visit.

Kausani is bestowed with a pleasant weather and is 413 kilometers from Delhi. Replete with nature walks, pine forests, mighty mountains, best cottages of Kumaon and tourist attraction spots, visiting the solace Kausani is the perfect weekend itinerary.
